I’ve been traveling the world for more than 30 years, telling stories and creating content that engages travelers and the travel industry. I’m proud to have received the 2019 NLGJA Excellence in Travel Writing Award and to be the author of Prepare for Departure: Notes on a Single Mother, a Misfit Son, Inevitable Mortality, and the Enduring Allure of Frequent Flyer Miles (Vine Leaves Press, 2022).

I’ve contributed to some of the most respected names in consumer and trade media, including Fodor’s, Forbes Travel Guide, Global Traveler, HuffPost, the Miami Herald, Travel + Leisure Mexico and Passport Magazine. My work has also appeared in inflight magazines for Aeromexico, American Airlines and Avianca, and in the New York Times bestseller 1,000 Places to See Before You Die.  I also write regularly for leading travel trade media, including TravelAge West, Travel Weekly, TravelPulse, Meetings & Conventions, Northstar Meetings Group and Successful Meetings. Whatever the platform, my writing informs, inspires and engages.

Public Speaking

As a speaker and moderator, I’ve energized audiences at prestigious events including the ASTA Global convention, the New York Times Travel Show, the South American Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference, the World Romance Travel Conference, the Los Cabos Tourism Board's annual holiday event, the Louisville Book Festival and the Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival. Whether it’s delivering keynote speeches, writing and hosting webinars or moderating panels, I tailor each presentation to inspire, entertain and inform audiences with meaningful takeaways.

Custom Content & Consulting

I craft branded content for high-profile clients like the World Travel & Tourism Council, Air Canada, the Arizona Office of Tourism and IMEX Group. My long relationship with the U.S. Travel Association included creating content for IPW Daily, the official publication of the USA’s largest international tourism conference, for more than 15 years.

I also help clients with AI content optimization and collaborate with travel brands to develop new products, from designing executive familiarization trips to providing destination sales team training. My consulting work has helped major operators launch successful programs in destinations like Panama and Colombia.
