Sneak Peek Video of the New Parque de las Ciencias in Puerto Rico

BY MARK CHESNUT

The Caribbean's largest science and nature just opened in Puerto Rico, and I got a sneak peek.

I created this Instagram Reel travel video of the spectacular Parque de las Ciencias by ToroVerde, one of the most legendary family-friendly attractions in Puerto Rico — it reopened in September 2024 after a $20 million upgrade and a seven-year closure.

I was impressed with the variety of features — including a museum that documents Puerto Rican contributions to the space program, a museum that showcases indigenous Taino culture and history, a recreation of a traditional Puerto Rican village and a cool restaurant set partially inside a planetarium-style projection dome (amazing visuals, as you can see in the video. You can also see more of my travel videos and photos of Puerto Rico and other vacation destinations by following me on Instagram).

I’ve written a news brief about the opening of Parque de las Ciencias for TravelAgeWest. and will soon be sharing an in-depth report about the park on that site as well..

If you're looking for new things to do in Puerto Rico — especially if you're taking a family vacation and have kids in tow — the Parque de las Ciencias by ToroVerde is perfect addition to your Puerto Rico travel agenda.
